Final numbers are not yet in but universities across Europe are reporting higher than ever numbers of UK and Irish students joining programmes, taught through English, in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Physiotherapy. Creating a particular stir are three English-taught Med programmes, recognised by the Medical Council, in Italy, at the highly respected Universities of Milan, Pavia and Rome. Cambridge Assessment have developed IMAT [International Medicine Aptitude Test] as a vehicle for assessing applicants to these Italian universities. Some universities in Central Europe are reporting that such is the scale of the rise in registrations that they are scrambling to find sufficient on-campus accommodation for international students. |
