Law and German is a demanding programmes that gives you the opportunity to learn about the law, language and culture of one of the principal continental civil law jurisdictions, in addition to receiving a full grounding in Irish and EU law.
Programme content
First Year: The Irish legal system; Contract law; Constitutional law; Criminal law; Legal Skills; German language; German civilisation and legal methods; German constitutional law
Second Year: Law of tort; Land law; Private law remedies; Legislation and regulation; Mooting programme; German language; German civilisation; German civil law
Third Year: spent studying legal or related subjects in a German university.
Fourth Year: wide range of elective modules
Entry Requirements
Students must present six subjects of which two must be at grade C or above at Advanced GCE (A-Level. Others must be at least at grade C or above on GCSE or Advanced Subsidiary GCE (AS) papers. The six subjects above must include:English, Mathematics and a language other than English.
