Programme profile
In this course you will engage with ancient texts both as literature and as a gateway into culture and thought. For all of your language-based courses the groups will be small, stimulating lively discussion, analytic skills, and the development of independent thinking.
Greek can only be studied as a Combined Honours, in combination with another subject
Programme content
Years 1 and 2
Greek and Roman history; Mythology and religion; Sources and evidence in history and archaeology; Greek for beginners; Greek authors; Greek language
In the Third and Fourth Years you will progress to an in-depth study of topics in Greek literature and culture.
Entry Requirements
Students must present six subjects of which two must be at grade C or above at Advanced GCE (A-Level. Others must be at least at grade C or above on GCSE or Advanced Subsidiary GCE (AS) papers. The six subjects above must include:English, Mathematics and a language other than English.
