Van Hall Larenstein (VHL) is a university of applied sciences and, as such offers competence- based undergraduate and master's programmes, as well as conducting high-quality practice-based research.  This means that, right from the start, students are in close contact with professional life and practice..

VHL has over 4000 students and is home to over forty different nationalities. Students have various opportunities to operate in an international context - not just in programme-specific projects, but also in work placements and as part of their thesis.

VHL University of Applied Sciences is based at two locations in the Netherlands: Leeuwarden and Velp. The environmentally friendly building in Leeuwarden has green houses on its roof. The Velp site is situated on the Larenstein estate – a wonderful area for the practical ‘green’ programmes.

Accommodation


VHL will arrange furnished housing for all international students. Housing will be arranged in collaboration with local housing associations. Rooms are subject to availability so you should apply as soons as possible. Rent will be between €260 and €330 per month.
