Programme profile
The dentistry programme is ten-semesters-long; students who successfully complete the programme and pass the Final Board exams at the end of the training period are granted the Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree.
There are further possibilities for additional specialisation in Paedodontics and Orthodontics, in Dento-alveolar Surgery and Periodontology, as well as in Conservative and Prosthodontic Dentistry in three-year accredited postgraduate residency programmes.
Currently, there are nearly 800 dental students studying at the Faculty, 40 percent of whom are international. The Faculty has 100 full-time and part-time professors and tutors. The major theoretical and clinical subjects are taught by the Faculty of Medicine.

Year 3: Conservative Dentistry; Microbiology; Pathophysiology; Hungarian Medical Terminology; Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery; Oral Pathology; Pathology; Preventive Dentistry; Prosthodontics; Internal Medicine; Oral Biology; Radiation Protection; Dental-Alveolar Practice [1-2 weeks]

Progression
This programme is recognised by the General Dental Council and Irish Dental Council for registration to practise as a dentist in the UK and Ireland.
The Faculty of Dentistry has an accredited Ph.D. Programme: Research in the Dental Sciences.

3 A-levels (grades between A and E) + 3 GCSE (grades between A and C) inc Maths
Biology & Chemistry not required but needed for Entrance Examination
Six subjects at Leaving Certificate including at least two 2 at HC3. Subjects to include Maths
