Programme profile

In Sustainable Innovation you study innovations from a technological, economic and societal perspective, to enable society at large to consume and produce in a sustainable way. The study doesn’t just look at the design of an electric car, for example, but at the design in combination with the required infrastructure (charging stations) as well as the development of the market, laws and regulations, and the broader effects on mobility patterns, urban planning and the climate. This kind of design process always involves multiple actors such as government, industry, groups within society, knowledge institutes and consumers

TU/e’s world-class portfolio of Engineering degrees is underpinned by its ‘Bachelor College’. As a student of this Bachelor College you get plenty of scope to compose your own study on the basis of your interests and ambitions. Do you want to go deeper in a specific subject or would you rather explore the breadth by combining different subjects? Coaches and lecturers offer you support in whichever choice you make.

All programmes comprise [1] a Basic Foundation [2] a Basic Programme in User, Society & Enterprise [USE} [3] A Major [4] Electives. TU/e offers 15 majors, of which 7 are in English.

The Basic Foundation comprises Maths, Applied Natural Sciences, Modelling, Design, USE and Professional Skills.

The Sustainable Innovation programme is a major in the BSc Innovation Sciences degree. All first years in the Innovation Sciences programme, share the first year, whatever their 2nd and 3rd year major might be.
