Programme profile


This programme covers many aspects of nutritional sciences from biochemistry to molecular and public health nutrition, and also includes topics such as nutrition communication and food regulatory affairs.

On graduating you will be able to apply your knowledge to many different areas of the food and health industry.

Programme content


Stages 1 & 2:
The first stage focuses on the essential core sciences, allowing you to understand the complex metabolic processes associated with food and health. In Stage 2, you will undertake more general food and health-related modules, to build your knowledge of biological systems and their application to the practice of human nutrition.

Stages 3 & 4:
Stage 3 consists of a full one-year professional work experience placement, while in the final stage the focus is on specific areas of human nutrition including molecular nutrition, public health nutrition and clinical nutrition.

Entry Requirements


Students must present six subjects of which two must be at grade C or above at Advanced GCE (A-Level. The other subjects must be at least at grade C or above on GCSE or Advanced Subsidiary GCE (AS) papers. The six subjects must include: English, Mathematics, a Lab Subject and a language other than English.
