Programme profile
This is the only undergraduate joint degree programme in Ireland that combines Archaeology and Geology, leading on to careers in geoarchaeology.
Programme content
First year includes core modules introducing Archaeology and Geology. Students also take Chemistry and a selection of Biology, Geography and Mathematics modules. An optional Geology module introduces students to rocks in the field. In second year there is a broad spectrum of Geology and Archaeology at intermediate level. Third year consists of advanced modules in related areas of Archaeology and Geology
Entry Requirements
Students must present six subjects of which two must be at grade C or above at Advanced GCE (A-Level. Others must be at least at grade C or above on GCSE or Advanced Subsidiary GCE (AS) papers. The six subjects above must include:English, Mathematics and a language other than English.
GCSE Grade B in Maths required. Third langauge also required.
