This programme is designed to equip future leaders in the dairy industry with the necessary scientific, technical and business skills to cope with this business and enterprise expansion.




Programme content


Stages 1 & 2: The first stage combines a range of business, science, mathematics and technology-related modules. You will build on this scientific base in Stage 2 by taking a wide range of modules from relevant applied sciences as well as business and communications-related modules.

Stages 3 & 4: You will undertake technical management of a dairy farm at Teagasc, Kildalton Agricultural College, commencing from June of Stage 3 before starting your professional work experience placement. Modules such as Grassland Management and Applied Dairy Cow Nutrition, Dairy Systems and Herd Health will be undertaken at Teagasc Moorepark in the second semester. In Stage 4 you will consolidate your understanding of modules studied and undertake a range of business and science modules.

Professional work experience takes place between July and December of Stage 3, offering you the opportunity to visit New Zealand during the busiest time of year in the dairy-farming calendar

Entry Requirements


Passes in 6 recognised subjects with at least two subjects at Grade C or better in GCE A-Levels or equivalent, and at least four subjects at Grade C or better in GCE O-Levels or equivalent.
