Programme profile


This programme provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to manage the way businesses receive raw materials as input, add value to the raw materials through various processes and sell finished products to customers. In other words, you will learn how to analyze, improve and innovate value chains in global business environments.

The programme is a business management programme which integrates the technical and commercial approach to Logistics and Supply Chain Management through studying subjects within the fields of Sales, Business Economics, IT, Technology, Operational Analysis, Organisation & Change Processes and Management.

The programme is focused on applied skills; thus project work, project management and implementation have high priority on the programme and will qualify the students to manage business functions where they will have to use commercial, technical and logistic knowledge as well as new research results in the fields of supply chain management and process optimisation.

Programme content


The programme is built around themes which lead you toward two profiles:

- Global Business Development
- Information Technology and Production Management


Each semester covers a theme which will lead you an excellent understanding of the complete supply chain by the end of your programme.

The core themes are:
Market-Oriented Supply Chain Management;
From Customer Order to Production;
Optimising Production Layout;
Design & Optimisation of Value Chain Systems;
Work Placement;
Choice of one of above specialisation profiles;
Bachelor's Project

Progression


The university does not currently offer a related Masters programme, taught through English

Entry Requirements


General Certificate of Education with examination in 8 subjects where at least 3 are A-levels, alternatively 2 A-levels + 2 AS-levels. Subjects to include Maths

Leaving Certificate, showing at least 6 subjects of which at least 2 Higher Level subjects (at least Grade C3, other subjects at least Grade D3 [Pass at A or B will be considered]. Pass Maths will be considered for Maths requirement. FETAC Level 5 Certificates and Level 6 Advanced Certificates will be considered for admission only to same study field as they would gain entry for in Ireland
