Programme profile
This programme is designed for individuals who wish to undergo a highly vocational and professional training and education as musicians, producers and songwriters. It is “designed for individuals with passion, creativity, imagination and a real commitment to gaining and sustaining a lasting career in the music industry. The programme provides its students with the opportunity to develop as individual creative artists and music entrepreneurs able to work and thrive in multiple contexts and environment” As the programme progresses, you will have increasing opportunity to develop your own specialist area of activity.
A substantial part of the programme will be given over to practical performance and recording projects, either as an individual, or in collaborative projects with students from across the Institution.
Programme content
This programme is an integrated programme with a focus on popular and commercial music. The programme has seven principle areas of study: 1. Individual music performance technique {Guitar (bass and lead), Drums, Keyboards, Voice, Other instruments by request) 2. Ensemble and individual music performance 3. Composition and song writing 4. Music production and technology 5. Music business and entrepreneurship (including marketing and promotion) 6. Music history and context 7. Interdisciplinary practice.
