Programme profile
This programme looks at the principles underlying language, culture, translation and intercultural communication. It develops your knowledge of specific cultures and enhances your language skills significantly in French, Chinese, German, Irish, Japanese and/or Spanish.
On this programme you have the opportunity to study languages in combinations which are not available anywhere else in Ireland (e.g. Japanese and German; Chinese and Irish), preparing you to gain professional and academic competence in Translation Studies, which would allow you to enter the profession or pursue further study in the field.
Entry Requirements
Students must present six subjects of which two must be at grade C or above at Advanced GCE (A-Level. Others must be at least at grade C or above on GCSE or Advanced Subsidiary GCE (AS) papers. The six subjects above must include:English, Mathematics and a language other than English.
